Bible verse Valentine’s Day projects are here! With all of the creativity and excitement around Valentine’s Day flooding the internet right now, I couldn’t help but notice something missing. As we stepped out of a Christmas season that was faith centered, the gap in the faith filled content for Valentine’s Day stood out to me. So the best way to close the gap is to fill it in myself.

Today I am sharing with you a free printable for your Valentine’s Day learning activities. This bible verse Valentine’s Day countdown includes 14 ways that God shows us his love. Unlike other countdowns, this countdown includes Bible verses to reference each day as you countdown to February 14th. This is a great way to start the day rooted in The Word each morning as a family.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to talk about love in our home and learning. We can talk and learn about God’s great love for us and how we can share that love with others. I like to use this opportunity in our home to really study the love The Father has for us.
If you are looking for some ideas for celebrating, I suggest joining me on Instagram. I have been sharing our latest finds that we will use this season. Like these YumEarth Valentine’s Day Gummies or wooden cars, I painted special for my little one (here).
However you choose to celebrate, this Bible Verse Valentine’s Day countdown is the perfect way to keep things faith centered.

Instructions for Bible Verse Valentine’s Day Countdown
Simply start by downloading this free printable here. This printable includes 15 colored hearts and 14 different Bible verses to reference. Cut out each heart using a pair of scissors. If your littles are skilled in their scissor skills, they can complete this step.
After the Bible verse Valentine’d Day hearts are cut out, trace the hearts on colorful scrapbook paper or plain construction paper or card stock. I cut my pieces of paper slightly bigger than the printed heart, so a border shows. I used a variety pack of card stock I found at Hobby Lobby. One heart will be larger than the others. You should have 14 smaller hearts and 1 larger heart.
Note if using patterned paper: Since you aren’t turning over the larger heart, glue the pattern side so that it shows when you are looking at the text of the larger, printed heart. See photo below for example.

After your hearts are cut, glue the colored paper to the backside of each “God is…” heart. For the smaller hearts, if using patterned paper, make sure the pattern is facing out when you glue them.
As an extra step, you can laminate the hearts. I chose to laminate our hearts for longevity so we can use them year after year, without worrying about little hands making the paper dirty. I have and use the Amazon Basics Thermal Laminator (here) and the Amazon Basics Thermal Laminating pages (here).
Using a ribbon, twine, or sturdy piece of string, clip each heart to the ribbon/twine/string with the patterned side out. Beginning on the 1st day of February (or whenever you choose to use your garland), flip each heart over and read the verse noted on the card.
There is no particular order for the verses and cards. So when you cut them out, do not get worried if they get out of order from how they printed.
