Simple Christmas crafts are our thing this year. W Simple Christmas crafts are our thing this year. We had leftover rectangular strips from making our snowflakes the other day. I cut those strips in half, lengthwise and we painted them.

Watercolors are my preferred paint method because they aren’t “globby” (is that a word?). It was a fun busy activity for kids and created a fun decoration I won’t have to store after Christmas.

Simple Christmas is our goal this year.

Do you use paper chains to countdown or just to decorate?
Telling everyone about the best gingerbread house Telling everyone about the best gingerbread house kit for kids! We’ve tried all the different kits over the years and this was the first kit that we didn’t need hot glue for (which is really exciting)

These cookie houses assembled easily and had an actual cookie base, not just a plastic tray.

Dye free candy is a total win and the cute woodland animals give the cutest vintage gingerbread house vibes. AND it was under $10.

5 tips for creating a morning time routine with yo 5 tips for creating a morning time routine with your kids

💾 save this to refer to later 💾

1. Keep items in one centralized location. We choose a basket that sits in our kitchen waiting for mornings. I keep the morning essentials inside — a morning menu for each child, dry erase marker, children’s Bible, children’s devotionals, and something to fidget with (play dough works well for this)

2. Make it Interactive: Encourage engagement by making Bible time interactive. Use storytelling, or visual aids to bring the stories to life. Ask questions to stimulate their understanding and encourage discussion.

3. Choose Age-Appropriate Material: Select Bible stories or passages suitable for your children’s ages and comprehension levels. I have a keepsake coloring Bible for my kindergartener so he can color applicable pictures.

4. Incorporate Prayer and Worship: Integrate prayer and worship into your morning routine. We have a hymn book in our basket that also has the history of the hymn with each hymn.

5. Encourage Journaling or Artwork: Provide journals or art supplies for kids to express their thoughts, draw, or write about their understanding of the Bible stories. This creative outlet allows them to internalize and express their faith in their own unique ways.

*bonus*. Be Flexible and Patient: Understand that some mornings may be busier than others, and not every session will go as planned. Be flexible in your approach and patient with your children. The aim is to create a positive association with Bible time, not to enforce rigid routines.

By incorporating these additional strategies, you can further enrich the experience of morning Bible time with your kids, making it an enjoyable and spiritually nurturing part of their day.
The best Dollar Tree find, static cling color chan The best Dollar Tree find, static cling color changing stickers. These stickers have kept my littles busy, even during the day. Sometimes the bath becomes an aqua corral for my little ones as they play. I found some paint brushes we weren’t using & spray bottles.

• these were in with all of the other standard stickers at Dollar Tree
• when they dry, they can curl up. To revive them, simply get them wet and stick them on again.
I could rearrange it while they sleep, but we all I could rearrange it while they sleep, but we all know the toddler will disassemble it in the morning. 🎄
