Dairy free hot cocoa mix seems to always be a staple in our home, especially during the winter months. This winter I was searching for a new, individually packaged hot cocoa mix I could gift and share with our friends and family. What I found was, hot cocoa mix that is dairy free is expensive!
I started my research and found that hot cocoa mix, especially the dairy free kind, has very simple ingredients. I was able to mix up jars of hot cocoa mix to gift to our friends for a fraction of the cost it would cost me to purchase ready made packets.

Dairy Free Hot Cocoa Gift
Homemade gifts are one of my favorite things to gift to others, especially friends and family that appreciate the homemade touch. This recipe I used made fit inside a 2 cup jar, so double or triple depending on the amount you need. These are the jars I used for making our gifts. These would also work or these, if you are looking to purchase fewer jars.

I used this recipe and gift tag for both Christmas gifts and Valentine’s Day gifts. I just used a ribbon that coordinated with the holiday. You could also gift this to a new mother, a friend on Mother’s Day, or even as a hostess gift. The tag is universal, just change your ribbon to fit the theme.

Free Downloadable Hot Cocoa Gift Tag
I have also made these free printable tags for you to use when creating your hot cocoa gifts. Simply print them and cut them out. I have included two versions, one with ingredients listed and one without. I have done this in case you change the ingredients slightly. I recommend using a word processing application to add your own ingredients if you change any.
You may consider adding vegan marshmallows to your mix, as well.
