When I started my blog, I started it as a place to document and share my journey as a new wife.
On March 25th Nick and I hit our 6 months of marriage mark! As I sat down to write this blog post, I discovered that I didn’t have any juicy stories to share. I didn’t have any “BIG NEWS” nor did I really know what the heck we did these last 6 months. 🙂 What I do know, is I am more in love with my husband today than I was on September 25, 2015.
These 6 months have flown by. I asked Nick the other day, “Will you Marry Me?!” and he very sweetly said “as long as we don’t have to plan another wedding!” So maybe, just maybe a went a little overboard on my Pinterest/Hobby Lobby/Everything Needs a Theme obsession when planning the wedding. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t trade it for the world… and I am so glad we only have to plan one of those bad boys once in our life!
In case you are just tuning in, we got married on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, California. Our winery, Panza Extravaganza took about 2 years to plan. Shades of purple, tiny details, and plenty of sentimental moments is the best way to sum up the day! After our wedding we spent 11 days in beautiful Oahu, Hawaii.
Zipling, Pear Harbor, paddle boarding, snorkeling, Dolphin excursions. It was an amazing trip! We have hundreds of photos and several hours of GoPro video footage we haven’t even sorted through yet. I haven’t even “legally” changed my name yet. *gasp* I will, I will!
Our new chapter has simply brought a stronger friendship and love for one another. I never thought I would EVER love someone as much as I love this man!
Our first Christmas brought a Just Married theme tree and new Christmas card traditions. We (and by we, I mean I) decided to share a recipe card with our Christmas card that represented the year. We I chose Italian Wedding Cookies! It’s my goal to keep this an annual tradition, filling the recipe boxes of our friends and family! I have no clue what 2016’s Christmas card will bring, but I have about 8 more months to figure it out.
Our wedding video arrived 2 weeks before Valentine’s Day. We waited until Valentine’s Day to watch the video together! Â Our video shared a story of an amazing day that was worth every tear shed, every OVERLY OBSESSED Pinterest moment, and every hair I lost the 2 years we planned our wedding! Valentine’s Day was complete with Champagne! In case you missed the 3 minute video clip I shared on my Facebook, here it is!!
At first, the thought of not planning a massive event for our lives was a little odd. What would I ever do with my time now?! 🙂 I wrote in my blog post at the beginning of the year, that I wanted to take more snapshots of moments and really enjoy the smaller things. Which led me to a list of 101 things in 1,001 days and while it has been a slow start, we are working on it.
One of the things on the list is to go to 25 NEW restaurants. You should see Nick and I on our nights off together trying to come up with and agree on a new restaurant to go to. haha. I might just film it! Some nights we are so exhausted from trying to figure out a new place to eat, that we end up staying home and playing Jenga or Yahtzee! I know, pretty exciting, right!?
Our last 6 months brought the announcement of…. my new blog! While I know a lot of people are hoping for another type of announcement, we are truly enjoying our little lives together for now. With the support of my amazing husband, I have use my blog as an outlet to share my passions! If you were looking for exciting baby announcement news, my beautiful sister is pregnant, so Hooooooraaaay for her and her husband!!
We have come a long way since our early days as the 16 year old girl in love with the 18 year old *gasp* boy! Years of learning, growing, and laughter! I am excited for future life moments with my best friend and with our family! If you still haven’t caught a glimpse of the amazing work Revik Photography did for our wedding, you can visit my blog post here with wedding details or visit the full gallery on Revik’s website here!
