Dear friend,
I know Target brought out their CoffeeMate Pumpkin Spice Creamer and other FALL FANTASTIC/ ALL THINGS BASIC creamers. But let me tell you, that store bought coffee creamer has to go.
(Ps… after this post, you will want to visit my All Things Pumpkin Recipe Roundup!)

I Love Pumpkin Spice Season
Not because I am all things pumpkin hater, in fact I love it, but because the ingredients in it are not good for our health. Allow me to expand my thoughts.
I am going to share with you why Coffeemate pumpkin spice creamer surfaces concerns, but stick to the end because I share a simple recipe so you can make your own version.
The Problem With Pumpkin Spice Creamer
The product is not organic, nor Non-GMO project verified.
The creamer has sugar and vegetables oils which are most likely GMO crops, sprinkled with an extra dose of Pumpkin flavored roundup.
It also has the ingredient Carageenan, derived from red algae. The ingredient has been found to degrade in the gastrointestinal tract and in the liver and begins to turn in to a carcinogen.

Coffee Creamers typically include some form of “creamy” ingredient. In this case it is casein. In the sugar-free version, there is a “milk derivative”. Conventional milk comes from conventional cows that are fed genetically modified (GMO) feed. GMO feed (high pesticide exposure) + cows = generally more antibiotics used in the livestock.
The sugar-free version of the creamer includes maltodextrin, which is an ingredient added to processed foods as a chaperons filler to make it go further. The problem with maltodextrin is it can disrupt gut bacteria and put us at greater risk of disease.

Dairy-Free Coffee Creamer
I didn’t ruin Fall completely, because I have a recipe alternative. A DIY Pumpkin Spice creamer that has clean ingredients, tastes DELICIOUS and mixes well in your coffee or tea.
