Memorizing Bible Verses with Kids

Anna Panza / May 30, 2022

Memorizing Bible Verses with kids is fun and can be done. When my 4 year old started memorizing race cars, their driver’s full name, and facts about the race track, I knew it was time to start incorporating some memory work. In the last could years of using morning baskets…

Over the past several months I’ve listened to the God nudges to continue to pour my heart in to creating and offering digital products for your home. (I’ve added all of these links to my profile as well)

1️⃣ I have opened an Etsy & Teachers Pay Teachers shop to offer my digital files & work.
👉🏻Would you consider taking a moment to follow my shop + share it with others.

2️⃣ Pinterest, the place of inspiration! I’ve created a new Pinterest account and I’ve been working diligently to fill it with all the Faith Filled learning goodness.
👉🏻 would you consider hopping over, giving it a follow, & even pinning some pins to your favorite craft boards?

3️⃣ Pray - pray for confidence as I continue to listen to the Holy Spirit and create on the pillars of faith. I struggle at times to take what I’m told to do, create, and put it out there… out of fear.

I dream of creating beautiful printables and ideas that offer simplicity in all homes. I get excited about other mothers being inspired to create in their homes, in a non-stressful way.

Thank you for being here with me.
Every message, share, + encouragement.
Thank you for cheering on this Faith Filled Home.

Minimizing the toys. A journey which has been more Minimizing the toys. A journey which has been more challenging to work through. It’s easy to fall in to the trap of “more toys, more play” … which isn’t the case.

Simplicity Parenting has so many rich things to say about 🧸 TOYS 🧸

⭐️ what do you think? ⭐️
👇🏻👇🏻

📖 Too much stuff leads to too little time and too little depth in
the way kids see and explore their worlds.

📖 Children need time to become themselves- through play and so-
cial interaction.
If you overwhelm a child with stuff
-with choices and
pseudochoices- -before they are ready, they will only know one emo
tional gesture: "More!"

📖 1955…the first time Mattel began advertising a
toy--outside of the Christmas season. Almost
overnight children's play became less focused on activities, and more on the things involved, the toys themselves.

📖 Simplification is a process, a lifestyle change that has
several layers and takes time.

📖 By eliminating some of the clutter in our lives we can concentrate
on what we really value, not just what we're buried under, or deluged
with. With simplification we can bring an infusion of inspiration to our
daily lives; set a tone that honors our families' needs before the world's
demands. Allow our hopes for our children to outweigh our fears. Re-
align our lives with our dreams for our family, and our hopes for what
childhood could and should be. #simplicityparenting #minimizing #declutterlikeamother #minimalisttoys #minimizing
Still that grain free family. We notice a tremendo Still that grain free family. We notice a tremendous struggle with sensory cues (listening, meltdowns, aggression) when grains are part of our diet.

The solution is grain free focus inside our home. Which can really mess up some of those staple favorites… but not pancakes. 🥰 #sundaysareforpancakes

We’ve been LOVING this grain free pancake recipe for 6+ months.

Cassava Pancake Recipe -Makes about 9-12 pancakes
* 1 cup Cassava Flour
* 1/2 cup Coconut Flour
* ½ tsp. Sea Salt
* ½ tsp. Baking Powder
* ¼ tsp. Baking Soda
* 2 Tbsp. raw cane sugar
* 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla
* 3 large Eggs
* 1 Cup water or choice of Milk ( + more if batter is too thick)
* 1 teaspoon Vinegar
* butter or oil for greasing pan

1. Start preheating your pan on medium-low heat.
2. In a mixing bowl, mix together cassava flour, coconut flour, sea salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar. Mix and combine the ingredients.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together vanilla, eggs, water/milk, and vinegar. Gently pour the wet ingredients in to the bowl of dry ingredients.
4. Fold the ingredients together using a spoon or a silicone spatula. If the mixture is too thick, slowly add more water/milk to the mixture.
5. Add your butter or oil to the pan. Scoop about 1/4 cup of mixture in to the pan. Cook the pancakes until small bubbles appear in the center. This is about 2-4 minutes or until a slight golden color.
6. Flip the pancake over and cook until golden brown.
7. Set aside and repeat until all batter is used.

10 months out + 10 months in. My little rainbow ba 10 months out + 10 months in. My little rainbow baby we thought would stay in the womb until he was 5 years old!

The days move fast, as we’re all told. I wish I could bottle up the moments, smells, and cuddles.

What’s your favorite stage? Mine is watching him explore and discover. It’s like the world opens up for him in a new way each day!

*that last picture… what it’s really like photographing the mobile 10 month old *
Today marks day 1 of
working through #project333 … the project? 33 items of clothing for 3 months. I didn’t quite mail down the 33 items. It’s roughly 40 clothing pieces & several pairs of shoes. (( a marathon + journey)) **sharing in my stories today/story highlight “project 333”))

Don’t worry.. I didn’t just get rid of all of my clothes. I removed several pieces to store them away… you know “just to see how it goes”. I will revisit the bin at the end of 3 months to see if there’s anything I missed dearly.

The idea is to simplify life and eliminate decision fatigue. Pairing down and creating a wardrobe of only those pieces + colors I LOVE wearing strikes me as freedom. 👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻Freedom to grab and go… freedom to focus more time and energy on the ones or activities I love, rather than feeling overwhelmed by a closet of things. Or unimportant decisions like “has Susan seen me in this already?”

This process also comes with other standing benefits short and long term… emotional, financial, environmental…

Capsule wardrobes have always caught my eye… I love their simplicity and intention. I love how they appear to provide less distraction and gift us more time in our day.

I read a quote that said… minimalism isn’t about removing the things you love, it’s more about removing the things they distract you from the things you love.

Far from a minimalist myself… I love avoiding excess, especially when that excess steals from other places in my life.

The goal: more time. Less clutter.

Learning at home: teaching gratitude for others sa Learning at home: teaching gratitude for others sacrifices + patriotism 🇺🇸
It was one of those long draw out 4 year old battl It was one of those long draw out 4 year old battle of wills. The type where you stare blankly wondering how in the world you will arrive at an agreement.

And when the calm finally spilled over him, I asked him if he was done.
His response was so quiet, almost a whisper. “Kind words are like honey”, he said.

“what did you say?” I asked, eager to hear him say it again.

“Kind words are like honey. Sweet for the soul annnnnnd….” He tapped his little 4 year old finger on his chin.

I met his words and followed in the same gentle whisper… “healthy for the body.”
We locked eyes and finished together, “proverbs 16 24.”

So often I feel like I’m not doing enough.
When the world begins to compare him to others his age, I second guess if I have taken the wrong course.

He can KINDA write his name and most times it so jam packed together it just appears as a series of lines.
And then there’s the counting… he gets to 11 and inevitably comes an 8 then the 12. But ask him about a racecar and he’ll tell you more than you thought possible.

And he thinks his last name is his middle name and his middle name his last.

AND then there’s that creative, free spirit, leader thing… that I know gives other people the heebeejeebees because he doesn’t “fall in line”.
🍯🍯🍯🍯
But then God winks.
He winks through the clouds, showing that His Word is abundant in Life.

My 4 year old, centering his own behavior on proverbs 16:24.
Could it be he recalled that sticky lesson we did with honey about kind words, thus recalling the verse? I’m not sure exactly.

All I can do is pray I remember the feeling I felt hearing those words “kind words are like honey…” Because I am almost certain the joy I felt will be greater than the joy Ill feel when 12 comes immediately after 11.
🍯 🐝 🤍
Some days you’re not sure if it’s working.
The time, effort, and gentle guiding you put in to their well-being.
& then these little moments remind you, it’s working.
🌾 🍯 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. -Galatians 6:9
