When Life Goals Include Food

Part of my 101 in 1,001 days list is to eat at 25 new restaurants. First, let me tell you that this is harder than I thought it would be. Although, we are making progress. Typically we have a date night together once or twice a month, depending on our work schedules. Each date night we would end up at one of the three places we knew we would enjoy: Mexican food, Cheesecake Factory, or another Mexican food place at the mall. I set this goal so that we get out of our comfort zone a little bit. So far, we have been to four new places. I LOVE DATE NIGHT!

PS… before I get going I wanted to say I just figured out to easily upload my phone photos to the blog site. I am so excited! I am excited because now it won’t be so time consuming to get updated/current posts up. Yay! Anyways….

PanzaAvenue.com First on the list, Black Angus. I know, I know, pretty basic right? Nick had been there before as a kid, but I had never been. To be very honest, I can’t even remember what we had for dinner. 🙂 (I kept putting off uploading the photo from my phone!) We did go for Happy Hour, though and I know we had a sampler platter. Because we both don’t eat dairy, I got a little giggle the servers reaction when we asked for no cheese on the potato skins. 🙂 I wouldn’t say it was bad, I just don’t know if I would put it on my top 3 places to eat! On to the next!

Next on the list, Paul Martin’s American Grill! We went for Happy Hour on a Friday evening and sat outside. The atmosphere was great! Nice servers, fancy wine glasses, but no bread basket and we love bread! We had the grilled chicken skewers off of the Happy Hour menu. They were really good and a great choice if you are looking for a healthy bite. We split a burger off of the happy hour menu! The burger was tasty, but there fries were AH-mazing! We went back a couple weeks later with Nick’s parents, so I would say it was a win! Their regular dinner menu was on the pricey side for us, but if you are looking for a nice date place or Happy Hour, this is your spot! PS… the service was excellent!!

Girlfriend, I am not even going to lie to you… don’t waste your time! The last thing I want is to fill my blog with negative opinions, so I will keep this short. Between the service, the high priced food, the loud atmosphere, and did I mention terrible service, I will save you a trip! Clearly our server was an afternoon server and was anxious to be off for the day! I asked our server 3 different time for a fork and finally had to ask the bus boy. Just a snippet of the evening! So yeah… anyways… 🙂

Last week we visited Brio… for Happy Hour! **Apparently we only eat half priced food LOL. #NewlywedBudget**  Brio was VERY GOOD and they have a bread basket! 🙂 imageimageWe got a flat bread with no cheese and the Brio Burger! It was delicious! Their chips are delicious and their house red wine, I believe it is a blend, that was amazing too! We sat out on the patio and enjoyed a breezy Friday afternoon with a ton of carbs! Win, Win, Win in my book! There is a See’s candy just a few doors down, so of course we had to stop in there. Who doesn’t love free chocolate samples when you walk in the door?! Without a doubt I would visit Brio again!

Clearly I am loving Snap Chat, too (Mrs.Panza)!!  So four places, all for Happy Hour, and a couple worth saving in our “go to again” list!

Some days it takes a little bit longer to decide where we are going to go. We have started a list in our WunderList app that we have linked to each other’s phones. When we see a place we have never been and want to try, we add it to the list. Hopefully this will make deciding easier in the future.

If you are local to us and have any suggestions, we would love to hear them! We are only 4 in to our list of 25, this might start getting a little bit harder as we get closer to our goal! I am always up for a challenge, though!

XO, AP
